A Embaixada do Líbano e o Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB) apresentam a mostra fotográfica "Beirute: O Caminho dos Olhares", do fotógrafo libanês Dia Mrad. A exposição explora as consequências da explosão que aconteceu no Porto de Beirute no dia 4 de agosto de 2020.
A Embaixadora do Líbano, Sra. Carla Jazzar, em discurso, agradeceu Dia Mrad pela oportunidade de expor suas fotos e por permitir compartilhar o que realmente aconteceu naquele trágico dia. "A exposição é um relato da consequência da explosão de 4 de agosto de 2020, que matou mais de 200 pessoas, feriu 6.500, desalojou mais de 300 mil e destruiu o coração da nossa capital cultural, histórica e cultural", citou a Embaixadora.
Dia Mrad, fotógrafo e autor das obras, comentou que a mostra é muito mais do que uma exposição fotográfica, ela transmite um objetivo que além de ser pessoal, acredita que muitas pessoas também vão conseguir se identificar. "Isso foi algo que realmente nos tocou e mudou nossas vidas de um jeito que ninguém pode explicar", declarou Dia Mrad.
O fotógrafo citou, ainda, a importância dos silos de grãos que protegeram parte da cidade de Beirute de uma destruição ainda maior e acabou virando símbolo da tragédia. "Os Silos são testemunhas dessa tragédia e a preservação dessa estrutura é muito importante", concluiu o fotógrafo.
A mostra fica em exibição entre os dias 9 de setembro a 9 de outubro no CCBB - Brasília, de terça a domingo das 9h às 19h, na galeria 5 - 1º andar, dentro do Museu BB. Entrada gratuita mediante retirada de ingresso.

The Ambassador of Lebanon, Mrs. Carla Jazzar, in a speech, thanked Dia Mrad for the opportunity to exhibit his photos and for allowing him to share what really happened on that tragic day. "The exhibition is an account of the aftermath of the August 4, 2020 explosion that killed over 200 people, injured 6,500, displaced over 300,000 and destroyed the heart of our cultural, historical and cultural capital," the Ambassador quoted.
Dia Mrad, photographer and author of the works, commented that the show is much more than a photographic exhibition, it conveys an objective that besides being personal, he believes that many people will also be able to identify with it. "This was something that really touched us and changed our lives in a way that no one can explain," Dia Mrad declared. The photographer also cited the importance of the grain silos that protected part of the city of Beirut from even greater destruction and eventually became a symbol of the tragedy. "The silos are witnesses of this tragedy and the preservation of this structure is very important," concluded the photographer.
